The GRW State aid plan covers the period 2022-2027 and continues the previous State aid programme (SA.39460) aiming at the reduction of regional economic disparities in Germany. The overall objective of the GRW is to compensate for handicaps in structurally weak regions and to help reduce regional disparities development. Specifically, GRW funds aim to create and safeguard sustainable and high-quality jobs which in turn should increase overall income at the aggregate level, thus contributing to growth of regional employment and regional income. Businesses and municipalities are eligible for funding investments in business-related infrastructure. The second strand of GRW support, the grants for municipal investment projects, offers room for manoeuvre to finance business-related infrastructure with the aim of improving the local conditions for businesses.
