The purpose of this scheme is to support research, development and innovation projects as well as investment aid measures for research infrastructures in the air transport sector. The scheme should allow the development of technologies relating to all the technical fields of the aeronautical construction sector (propulsion, materials, structures, energy, navigation, systems, etc.) and that can eventually be embarked on future carbon-free aircraft programmes. The total budget for the scheme is estimated to be EUR 1,000 million annually from its entering into force (20 October 2020) until 31 December 2023. The scheme is intended to apply to the entire French territory.
