The primary objective of the UK’s Research, Development and Innovation Scheme is to stimulate economic growth through the support of innovative organisations across all sectors of the economy as well as research organisations. Secondary objectives of the scheme include increasing knowledge transfer and creation, development of innovation skills and production of new goods and services. The scheme also seeks to incentivise cooperation and collaboration between companies and research organisations, including higher education.
