Strategia italiana per la banda ultralarga

Abstract

The notified measure is based on "Strategia italiana per la banda ultralarga" approved on 3 March 2015 by the Consiglio dei Ministri. The strategy describes how the Italian government wants to achieve the objectives of the Digital Agenda for Europe (DAE). The support scheme came into force in 2016 after approval by the Commission and remains in force until 31 December 2022 (State aid notification SA 41647 (2016/N) for the White Areas Plan, approved by the Commission European by Decision C (2016) 3931 of 30 June 2016).  The purpose of the measure is to promote the deployment of a passive access infrastructure enabling the development of NGA broadband networks in white NGA areas of Italy. In these targeted areas, currently, only basic broadband services are available based on different wireless and fixed technologies, no NGA network is in place or being deployed in the near future (three years).
