Greek SFBB voucher scheme

Abstract

The Greek Superfast Broadband (SFBB) Voucher Scheme initiated under the State Aid case SA.499352, approved by the Commission in 2019. In 2020, the Commission approved a two-year extension of the duration of the scheme as well as the alteration of its scope to enable all enterprises to benefit from vouchers under the scheme. This is currently filed under SA.56599. The aim of the SFBB Voucher scheme is to address the digital divide in Greece by maximizing the take-up of NGA-based services by citizens throughout the country. The beneficiaries are individuals and undertakings who receive a new retail SFBB_Service, or upgrade an existing service to a SFBB_Service, offered by licensed Telecommunications Service Providers over any existing NGA infrastructure. The aid consists of a SFBB voucher, which beneficiaries can redeem to acquire one of the SFBB_Services listed among the approved Offers by the Telecommunications Service Providers.
