The scheme is part of the component on the Decarbonisation of Industry of the Recovery and Resilience Programme (RRP) and pursues the general goal of leveraging the decarbonisation of the industrial and business sector accelerating the transition to a carbon-neutral economy. In particular, this system of incentives seeks to promote and financially support projects targeting low-carbon processes and technologies in industry. Moreover, it fosters interventions encouraging energy efficiency, implementation of renewable energy and energy storage with the ultimate goal of reducing energy costs and help boost the market for the production of equipment and services for the environment, energy and renewables area.
