The main objectives of the GRW is to reduce regional disparities within Germany and to enable the assisted regions to follow the general economic development in Germany. GRW is a demand-driven programme – companies and municipalities apply for investment aid to the granting authorities. If the eligibility conditions are met, applications are generally approved, even if GRW support has decreased in recent years.
